Even Central Florida Gets Cold
Anyone living in the Orlando area during December, January, and February knows we need warmer clothes in winter. It’s a reality here in Central Florida, not just in the northern parts of the country.
For people with limited resources, this can be a challenge. Whether it’s due to insufficient storage space for off-season clothing, having children who have outgrown their current wardrobe, or normal wear and tear, buying new clothes can be expensive and sometimes takes a back seat to other priorities. A limited budget only goes so far.
You Can Help
Every fall, Big C Outreach hosts a Coat and Blanket Giveaway open to everyone in need of warm clothing. Everyone is welcome. No one is turned away. It’s a wonderful opportunity to address a physical need and share God’s love.
To make this event successful, we invite folks in the community, like you, to join us in serving. All with compassionate hearts and a desire to give back are welcome to participate.
If that sounds like you, simply fill out the form below, and one of our team members will reach out with more details and your team lead’s contact information.
We look forward to serving alongside you!
Donations
Our goal is that every guest who visits our event walks away, not only having warm clothing for the winter, but also feels loved and valued – meeting a physical need and maintaining dignity.
With that in mind, we gladly accept any donations (coats or blankets) that meet the following requirements. All others will be separated and discarded.
- Brand new items are wonderful!
- Used items must be in good condition. In other words, please don’t donate something you have worn out and just want out of your closet. The items must be free of significant wear (slight wear is acceptable).
- Used items must be clean. Please wash them before donating them. In previous years, we have received donations that were filthy and smelled bad. These items never made it to the display table.
- General rule – If you wouldn’t wear it, don’t give it. Our guests want to look presentable, just like everyone else. Give items that they would be excited to use. Then your donation will be the blessing that you intend.
Thanks, and God bless!
