Christians Serving Together

Our Philosophy

At Big C Outreach, one of our highest priorities is to find the proper fit for our team members.  Our organization will not function well unless our team members thoroughly enjoy what they are doing and find value in their work.   This is critical.

Without a proper fit, our team members will dread volunteering, and eventually, find other things to do.  And without volunteers, our organization will become ineffective, and ultimately cease to exist.

On the other hand, if everyone in our organization feels their time is well spent, and they enjoy their work, we believe that Big C Outreach will have a dramatic impact on our community.  Our team will be committed to the mission and will work hard to achieve it.  Our organization will be marked by teamwork and cooperation because we are putting into action what God has called each of us to do individually.

Where Do You Fit In?

We strongly believe that God has equipped each of us to do the specific work that he has planned for us as individuals.  Our personalities and spiritual gifting provide clues to God’s purpose for our lives.  The better we know ourselves, especially our spiritual gifting, the more likely we are to volunteer for positions that will truly resonate with us.  When we find the right fit, we will experience a level of joy while serving that would not otherwise be possible.  Ironically, it is the place where serving becomes fun and energizing.

If you have never explored the idea of spiritual gifts, we encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:11-13, and Romans 12:6-8.  While there are many different gifts, their purpose is always the same: to benefit others and help the Church to maximize its effectiveness.  We use this mindset when matching our team members with open positions.

Please take a minute to complete the Spiritual Gifts Test found at the following link https://www.freeshapetest.com/.  It will help you understand how God has made you and the purpose he has for your life.

Tell Us About Yourself

If you want to join our team, here’s what we would like to know about you:

  1. What are your strongest 3 or 4 spiritual gifts? And what was your score for each?
  2. Is there a particular group of people or areas of service that you feel drawn toward?
  3. Do you have any skills, talents, or professional training that you are willing to use while serving with the Big C Outreach?
  4. Why do you want to volunteer? What is God asking you to do?
  5. What are you most excited about when thinking about serving with Big C Outreach?
